Temptation
A temptation is an enticement to do something wrong for pleasure or gain. Pleasure and gain are two of the doors that feed a self-centered life and lead toward isolation. It begins a cycle that is never satisfied and grows in its appetite.

The grass always appears greener on the other side of the fence. It is only after stepping into the tall grass that you realize you are deep in fertilizer. God tells us to flee from temptation before we find ourselves over our head in fertilizer.

Growing
The words have been often repeated that if one stops growing they begin to die. God wants us to grow and not become stagnant and slowly die. Growing is not just about education or moving from childhood to adulthood. It includes every area of our being to find the balance and fulfillment we desire.

God wants us to grow up to be like Christ as the Bible shares in Ephesians 4. Complaining and anger are signs of not growing but electing to stand in place and slowly begin to die. Life has it challenges but God allows these in our lives so that we will grow. How are you using the challenges in your life? Bitter or Better?

A guy goes on vacation to the Holy Land with his wife and his cranky old mother-in-law. The mother-in-law dies. They go to an undertaker who explains that they can ship the body home but that it'll cost over $5000, whereas they can bury her in the Holy Land for only $150. The guy says, "We'll ship her home." The undertaker asks, "Are you sure? That's an awfully big expense and we can do a very nice burial here." The guy says, "Look, 2000 years ago they buried a guy here and three days later he rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance."
