Are Erotic Dreams A Sin?

erotic dreams

Can a dream make Christian singles sin? How about erotic dreams? Can they be controlled? How should you deal with them? Dr. Jim points out that what we do in our waking can have a great impact on our dreams.

Dear Jim: Does God consider having erotic dreams a sin?

Dreams are something that I believe everyone experiences. I am not an expert on the subject, but I understand that there are many reasons that we have dreams. It is certainly not scientific, but I find that if I get hot during the night from being covered too much, I wake up tired from dreaming a lot.

Virginity and Marriage

Virginity

What does God say about virginity, marriage, and consequences from our decisions? Let’s understand what God wants us to apply to our lives with Biblical principles.

Dear Jim: Should I be seeking a virgin for marriage?

This question, or one similar to it, often arises in emails received from singles. Virginity is something that God instructs us to bring into the marriage. How does one relate to those who are no longer virgins? Can one restore their virginity? How does virginity relate to second marriages? Allow me to share some thoughts on this area.

God says no to sex outside of marriage.

Sex outside of marriage

Dr. Jim explains why is so hard these days to think clearly about a relationship when sex outside of marriage is at play.  Christian singles need to understand the power a sexual relationship has on us and how they can avoid falling into temptation.  This article explains why all singles, Christian or not, should avoid sex outside of marriage if they want their relationship to be truly fulfilling and God-honoring.

Finding a soulmate can be easier than keeping a relationship healthy. The same is true when we talk about matrimony.  In today’s world, we see the devastation of divorce on the lives of couples and especially their children (if they have them).  We understand that we all fall short of the glory of God, but families can be destroyed when two people go into a relationship without the knowledge of how to serve and truly love their spouse as Christ loves the Church.

What Every Christian Couple Should Talk Before Saying “I Do”

The great word: I do
“I do”

4 Conversations Every Christian Couple Should Have Before Saying “I Do”

God never created men and women to be alone. From birth, humans long for connection and intimacy with others, seeking a life filled with love, compassion, and security. This can grow complicated when courting, and eventually dating the person you wish to wed. As you know, finding the one or your soulmate is a nuanced idea that has been spoon fed to young romantics by secular culture. Real, biblical relationships require communication and compromise with the person you have chosen.

Christian Counseling

Dr. Jim gives great advice on how to find a good Christian counseling professional who can help you deal with relationship issues, and other things that matter in your life. He explains how important is to get help, but more than that, it’s about finding a good counselor who can help you deal with and get through your struggles.

A Christian Counseling Professional: how to find one.

Allow me a premise as I begin to write this article. The premise is that each of us has a spirit and a soul. Our spirits relate to God and our souls relate to one another. Have you ever heard the term ‘soul mate’?

In the spiritual world, we find great benefit in seeking out those of more Christian maturity or training to give us insights. God has gifted many teachers of His word who make the scriptures come alive for us and give us deeper understanding. The insights gained allow us to walk in more freedom as well as in more awareness of who we are.

Feeling guilty. How to deal with guilt?

Life is filled with choices and too often we do not make the best ones. There are times when we have purposely made choices that later proved to be very bad ones (and painful). As the decision plays itself out, we begin to realize that this choice was very sinful and damaging to us and to others.

True Love – What is true love?

True Love

ChristianCafe.com guest writer K.L. Freebyrd writes about the real meaning of true love. This is about what some people dream about and what reality brings us. And, how building a solid relationship in Christ can make our relationships stronger with each other.

What is true love?

A question millions of us ask ourselves at some point in our lives, whether seeking a mate in the dating scene, or just after a breakup. It is a question that Christians and non Christians have struggled with throughout the ages. It’s controversial and often subjective.

Some people dream of a knight in shining armor saying all the right things at all the right times, without a single complaint, whisking us away off into the sunset to live happily ever after. Others may think it means having an undeniable, unfading connection with a soul mate who never argues and accepts us exactly how we are without judgment or strife. Sounds great, doesn’t it? There are just a few small flaws with that perception.
