When Sam Moorcroft started his new Christian company with his brother, he never knew how much of an impact his business would have on the broader Christian community. He recently gave an interview to StartedStory.com about how it all happened.
It’s a great read about Sam’s goals and dedication to help others connect with their Biblical helpmeet. It’s also a small reminder to our existing members about who’s behind our website and what his plans were when he first came up with the concept to help and connect singles of faith with one another.

On Starting A Christian Dating Company (25k+ Marriages!)
My name is Sam Moorcroft and I’ve been helping singles of faith connect for over two decades on ChristianCafe.com. Here’s my story:
In 1997, an opportunity came up for a great paying job in Toronto, Canada, so I took it and moved there from Vancouver. Six months later, my new employer had huge layoffs and I found myself unemployed – and still single. Having lots of free time, I started surfing the ‘Net and came across these new dating sites which were springing up.
My business mind clicked while meeting these women, so I started christiancafe.com with my brother in 1998. We launched our first version in early 1999 and the rest is history.
Our Christian company’s goals
Our goal, as always, is to continue offering a great dating experience for our members and helping more of them get married.
A former mentor once asked me, “What’s the difference between a good salesperson and a great one?” Answer: a great one believes in his or her product!
I believed so much in online dating that I found my Mrs. Right online, as well. While looking for “the one” prior to starting ChristianCafe.com, I met many friends online. One of them introduced me to my future wife. So I can say that dating online worked for me, and could also work for you on ChristianCafe.com!
